What Gem!
This incredible footage captures the D-Day veteran C-47 Skytrain, “Drag ’em Oot” of Aero Legends, rolling out from the BBMF hangars at RAF Coningsby. Delivered to the USAAF in December 1943, she served with the 87th Troop Carrier Squadron and earned her distinctive nickname during her wartime service.

“Drag ’em Oot” is easily one of the most iconic and beloved Dakotas still flying today.

With her weathered, combat-proven look and rich historical legacy, she’s a true flying museum piece. And let’s be honest—there’s nothing quite like the sight and sound of a C-47 running on radials.
