Spitfire Train Attack – Dark Blue World

Directed by Jan Svěrák, Dark Blue World portrays Czech pilots who escape the Nazi invasion and join the Royal Air Force. One of its most gripping moments is the Spitfire train attack. Flying dangerously low, the pilots skim the treetops as they pursue their target, leaving no room for error.

The tension intensifies when fuel begins to leak, trailing behind the aircraft. Suddenly, the fuel ignites, and flames race along the ground in pursuit. The scene becomes a desperate escape from both enemy fire and spreading fire. Its realism, sound design, and cinematography create a terrifying yet unforgettable sequence that captures the peril of low-level combat flying.
