Douglas DC-6 Thunderstorm Landing

What a Magnificent Aircraft!

This last DC-6 passenger plane is the crown jewel of the Flying Bulls Collection and is still in service today. This footage shows the plane getting ready for take-off and coming back to land in a thunderstorm!

The DC-6B had an illustrious past- they were used by heads of state and their celebrity guests from all around the world. In 2000, it was bought in Africa, and in 2001 restoration of the plane started, and was returned to its former glory three years later.

What a beautiful plane from the glory days of commercial air travel. The flight deck is also pretty amazing with modern avionics found at the bottom- definitely an amazing restoration!
