Reports have started circulating online about a U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler jet crashing into the San Diego Bay around Wednesday morning. The aircraft reportedly went down in the water off the Point Loma coast in San Diego, California.

Video of the crash quickly made it onto social media, showing that the two sailors were pulled out of the water by a local private boat near the area. Subsequent videos also show the Navy setting up a device meant to contain oil spills.

Meanwhile, the US Navy has confirmed that the two aviators were quickly recovered and in stable condition before being transported to UC San Diego Health for further assessment.

The Growler was assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 135, also known as the “Black Ravens,” based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington state.
