Wholesome Touchdown

The University of Kansas held an alumni football scrimmage in 2015. Included in one of their rosters was an 89-year-old WWII veteran by the name of Brian Sperry.

When Sperry was 17, he played college football at Kansas State. He would play for two more years before he left to serve in the war.

He may be 89 years old then, but that didn’t stop him from making the most of his opportunity during the annual Jayhawks alumni scrimmage.

During the game at Memorial Stadium, Sperry caught a pass, evaded the former Jayhawks players, and ran all the way to score a touchdown.

The Battle of the Bulge veteran was all smiles as players hugged and congratulated him for his effort.

Who wouldn’t be impressed after that run?
