This footage is a compilation of color HD WWII film reels that showcased B-17 Flying Fortress bombers returning from missions after they took in a significant amount of damage, as well as wounded crew from enemy fighters and flak.

 It was really touching to see the faces of these brave men returning from their missions. These men went on these kinds of missions knowing that the odds were against them returning alive.

The man at the 8:40 mark looks like he has 2 stars on his collar, and he looks like he’s just in his 20s. These men definitely had guts. Some of the guys even looked like they were still in their late teens.

Well, they weren’t called the greatest generation for nothing!
