Uncertainty Inside Iran

Retired Army Colonel Sethrum Rich explained that while regime change in Iran is possible, it likely won’t happen immediately. The country’s leadership has gone quiet, with even the Supreme Leader reportedly going into hiding. This silence has created confusion among the people, who feel left in the dark. For the Iranian government, the main threat is unrest at home. The leadership knows it must respond to the recent U.S. airstrikes or risk looking weak in front of its own population.

Colonel Rich believes Iran faces a decision. It could carry out a limited strike on U.S. bases in the region or attempt a larger move, such as disrupting the Strait of Hormuz, which could affect global oil supplies. But doing nothing is not an option, as it would damage the government’s image and risk growing protests.

Use of Powerful U.S. Weapons

The U.S. strike involved B-2 bombers dropping 14 “massive ordnance penetrators,” bombs designed to reach underground targets. These weapons are rare and used only in special situations. Their strength lies in how deep they can go before exploding, making them effective against fortified sites. It may take days or weeks to confirm the full extent of the damage, using a mix of satellite images and intelligence on the ground.

Colonel Rich now works with Global Guardian, advising clients in the Middle East. In the past ten days, he and his teams have helped evacuate hundreds from Israel and are ready to do more across the region. He believes Iran will be forced to act, and those living or working nearby may be at risk. The B-2 bombers returned safely to Missouri, and the U.S. military remains prepared for any developments that may follow.
