This footage features the B-52H Stratofortress departing, doing flybys, and landing at the Fairford RIAT-2023. The aircraft is amazing to watch especially up close!

Honestly, we had no idea that the B-52 could taxi sideways. Absolutely amazing! When the plane was first developed during the 1950s and the 1960s, one of its most highly classified features was its landing gear that could “crab” sidewise. The reason for having these features is that the plane couldn’t bank into a crosswind during landing. The wings were so long that during a steep bank angle, either the left or right tips would drag along the ground.
