Battle of Britain – Heinkel Turkeyshoot

An intense aerial clash from the 1969 war epic Battle of Britain, where a formation of unescorted German Heinkel bombers dares to cross into British skies, only to be intercepted and decisively handled by the valiant pilots of the RAF.

The visual effects in this 1969 movie are outstanding. Although they used a mix of model aircraft, especially the Stukas, the rest were the real deal. One minor complaint about this epic scene, though – the Stuka noises used for diving German aircraft aren’t actually Stukas. Other than that, everything is brilliant. No obvious fake animation from artists who’ve likely never seen a real airplane, let alone understand how it actually flies. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
