Big Old Griffon Engine Start Compilation

This Never Gets Old!
This video features several old Rolls Royce Griffon engines starting up.
It was a lovely sight and sound from these engines! Although they sound better powering an actual warbird like the Spitfire, they still hold up on a trailer test bed.
The development of these engines started in England in 1939, intended to produce 1,500 HP at low altitudes for naval torpedo bombers.
The Griffon engine has a more throaty exhaust note to it than the Merlin ones. These engines scream the best of British engineering, that’s for sure!
