WWII Bomber Showdown!

This video ranks 100 different WWII bombers by their top speeds, including rare and forgotten variants. Each aircraft comes with historical insights, making this a must-watch for aviation enthusiasts.

According to FlakAlley, the De Havilland Mosquito tops the list with a speed of 415 mph. Coming in at 2nd place is the Luftwaffe’s Junkers Ju 288 which can reach 407 mph with its two 2,950 hp engines. Britain’s Blackburn Firecrest, which comes in at 3rd place, can achieve 380 mph with its powerful 18-cylinder 2,825 hp engine and methanol injection.

Meanwhile, Japan’s most advanced bomber of WW2 – called the Nakajima G8N, can reach 368 mph. Sweden’s Saab 18 is also on the list, being the country’s first long range bomber that also reached 367 mph.

America’s B-29 Superfortress comes in at 6th place, boasting a top speed of 357 mph. This bomber holds historical significance as it ended the Second World War.
