What a Legend!

At 89 years of age, General Chuck Yeager once again took to the skies, boarding an F-15 Eagle at Nellis Air Force Base for a special honor flight. This commemorative event was held to celebrate the anniversary of one of aviation’s greatest milestones, Yeager’s legendary supersonic flight on October 14, 1947, when he became the first person to break the sound barrier while piloting the experimental Bell X-1. The flight at Nellis took place on October 14, 2012, exactly 65 years after that historic moment, paying tribute to his enduring legacy in the world of aviation and aerospace.
Yeager passed away on December 7, 2020. Definitely one of the true legends- a hero for his accomplishments in aviation.
