F-35 & P-51 Mustang Flying Together – This Will Give You The “Feels”
Some of the world’s best fighters took to the skies and well, in a way moved us to tears. For the record, there’s a rich aviation history between the two of them and seeing them tear through the clouds is just making us feel more emotional. This is the reason why people like us go to air shows — to get a closer look at all these legendary planes. Bud Anderson, a Triple Ace of the 357th Fighter Group remembers the beast that is the Mustang:
[The Mustang] was pleasant and forgiving to fly. Best of all, it went like Hell. The Merlin had great gobs of power, and was equally at home high or low, thanks to a two-stage, two-speed supercharger. The Mustang carried fuel enough to pursue and destroy the enemy once you’d flown to the target, and it could turn on a dime.
But the F-35 is a league on its own. Yes it’s expensive but at the end of the day, it delivers.
