P-38L Lightning “Pudgy” Test Flight

What a Beautiful Bird!

This is the P-38L Lightning, “Pudgy” that was test flown after a long refinishing and repaint by American Aero in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It’s always nice to see an airworthy P-38, I want to commend the restoration team for putting the plane back in perfect flight condition. What an absolutely beautiful plane and we’re amazed at how quiet it is- you can easily hear the wind over the engines. The P-38 is also one of those very few twin prop aircraft that’s equipped with counter-rotating props.
