The Only Authentic Flying Zero Takes to the Sky

The 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Memorial Flight at Planes of Fame’s annual air show featured one of the rarest sights in aviation history: a freshly rebuilt, all-original Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero taking to the air. Powered by its original Nakajima Sakae 31 engine, this aircraft is not a replica or reproduction, but a genuine wartime survivor restored to flying condition.
Painstakingly rebuilt to exact historical standards, it remains the only fully authentic, flyable Zero in the world today. Its flight honored the memory of those lost at Pearl Harbor while offering spectators a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a true World War II legend in motion. The sound, presence, and historical weight of the aircraft made the memorial flight deeply moving and unforgettable.
