A small Cessna Skymaster crashed into a quiet residential neighborhood in Pembroke Pines, Florida, on Sunday night—miraculously, all four people on board survived with only minor injuries.

A Harrowing Descent Caught on Camera
The crash happened around 8:10 p.m., just one mile from its intended destination, North Perry Airport. Home security footage shows the aircraft slamming into a tree before hitting the ground near Southwest 14th Street and 68th Boulevard. The plane narrowly missed homes and cars, with the sound of the engine captured moments before impact.

According to the FAA and NTSB, the plane was on final approach from the Turks and Caicos when something went terribly wrong. Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom, followed by popping noises. One resident described it as sounding “like a semi-truck flipping over with a load of boulders.”
Neighbors Become First Responders
In the moments after the crash, neighbors rushed to the wreckage as smoke poured from the downed plane. One doorbell video captures voices shouting: “Can you get out at all, or are you stuck?” while another person runs in with a garden hose.

Giovanna Hanley told reporters her father-in-law, a trained first responder, was first on the scene. “It was amazing,” she said. “One grabbed an ax, one grabbed a fire extinguisher, one grabbed a hose.”
Among the four survivors were two minors, aged 13 and 16, who were taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital along with the others to Memorial Regional Hospital.
A Pattern of Danger
The incident is part of a troubling trend. According to Pembroke Pines Mayor Angelo Castillo, there have been more than 36 accidents at North Perry Airport in the past five years. “We’ve run out of patience,” the mayor said. “This community wants to feel safe.”

The FAA and NTSB are continuing their investigation into what caused the crash.
