The olive drab P-38J “23 Skidoo,” the museum’s pride, flies gracefully alongside the stunning silver P-38L “Honey Bunny,” owned by Allied Fighters and also based at Chino. Listen closely to the distinctive, smooth growl of their Allison V-1710 12-cylinder engines, routed through turbochargers to single exhausts, a sound unlike any other in aviation history.
