Sopwith Snipe’s First Flight In 5 Years

The Main Attraction
This British single-seat biplane fighter of WWI was going to be the star attraction at Oshkosh 2018, so Kermit and his team took the Sopwith Snipe for a routine flight just before the event.
This day marked the first time the fighter took off in 5 years!
This plane’s engine sound is fantastic, by the way. You don’t want to miss its engine start at around 4 mins!
After a rather tough engine start, Kermit Weeks took her for a short taxi run before taking off.
Piloted by Kermit, we get to see the rare Sopwith Snipe perform some high passes followed by low fly-bys.
The sound it makes while it’s up in the air is just amazing. You will never get tired of hearing that sound throughout the video!
Props to Kermit Weeks and his team for pushing through with this flight. That was spectacular to watch!
