Viral Video Shows Plane Struggling To Land Amid Strong Winds

An intense video has captured an IndiGo plane battling fierce winds and turbulence while attempting to land in Chennai as Cyclone Fengal approached. The aircraft, arriving from Mumbai, faced extreme weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong gusts that tested the limits of both the machine and its pilots.

As the plane neared the runway, it swayed precariously, buffeted by the storm’s relentless winds. Just moments before touchdown, it tilted dramatically to the left, coming alarmingly close to the ground. In a remarkable display of skill and composure, the pilots executed a go-around maneuver, aborting the landing and climbing away for another attempt.

IndiGo confirmed the incident, stating the cockpit crew acted in accordance with safety protocols. A go-around, the airline explained, is a standard and safe procedure used when landing conditions are unfavorable. “Our pilots are extensively trained for such scenarios,” IndiGo assured.

The plane successfully landed at Chennai Airport shortly after 12:40 PM, just before the airport shut operations due to the cyclone’s impact.
