2 National Guardsmen Dead After Apache Crashes During Routine Flight

Two soldiers have reportedly died after their AH-64 Apache crashed in Mississippi during a routine training flight last Friday.
They were identified by state officials as Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bryan Andrew Zemek (36 years old), and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Derek Joshua Abbott (42 years old).

Both servicemen served at a Mississippi National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility in Tupelo.
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves released a statement on Saturday stating:
“We will always remember these dedicated soldiers for their honorable service and we grieve with the families during this tragic time.”
The AH-64 Apache crashed around 2 p.m. last Friday near Booneville in Prentiss County. The incident is still under investigation, so no further details have been released at this time.
