An Exact Copy?

The KF-21 has several similarities to the F-22 Raptor which is an American 5th Generation fighter jet. The most noticeable similarity between the two is their overall shape. Both jets have diamond-shaped wing-canted vertical stabilizers and forward-swept canards.

These features are designed to decrease the radar cross-section of the jet. Surprisingly, the similarities of the two jets are not a coincidence. The South Korean government is working with the US on KF-21’s development.

The two countries also shared several technologies. All of these helped ensure that the KF-21 is a modern and capable fighter jet. Although the KF-21 isn’t a direct copy of the F-22, there’s no doubt that it has had a significant influence on its design.
