This Mitsubishi Triton pickup collided with a stationary Airbus A320 aircraft – and hit its engine inlet cowling in the process!

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries from this incident, but there were flights canceled because of what happened.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 5:30 AM. The collision occurred as the aircraft was being towed to the gate, so there were no passengers on board.

However, the driver was trapped in the vehicle at bay G4 and was attended to by paramedics at the scene before being sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for his minor injuries.

Videos from the incident reveal a shattered windshield and a distorted cabin of the truck, which was wedged under the aircraft’s right engine.

Sydney Airport announced that the aircraft will be undergoing ‘precautionary engine checks’, estimating the cost of repairs to exceed $330,000.
