Good Choice.

A plane spotter captured a pretty nasty landing attempt in Austria this past weekend. By “nasty” we mean very rough but under the circumstances, the pilot did the best he could.

Central Europe has been facing some massive storms over the weekend which were felt in Poland, the Check Republic, and Austria among others. In this video, you’ll see a Polish airliner try to land on Austria’s Salzburg runway but after a turbulent approach and hard hit on the tarmac, the pilot aborted. The flight then headed back to Frankfurt where the winds were more favorable.

You’ve got to admit though, you wouldn’t want to be on that flight. The crab approach was pretty extreme compared to regular crosswind landings. That final touchdown was definitely rough too, but when all’s considered, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, right?
