Spectacular Engine!
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a single-seat monoplane fighter that was used by the Luftwaffe during WWII.
Along with the Focke-Wulf Fw-190, this plane served as the backbone of the Luftwaffe’s fighter force.
When it first took the skies, it was one of the most advanced fighters ever built with a closed canopy, all-metal monocoque construction, and retractable landing gear.
The Bf-109 also went on to become the most-produced fighter aircraft in history, with a total of 34,248 airframes produced.Â
This video footage features the Bf 109 E-3 from engine start-up, run-up, and shut-down. The plane is powered by an original Daimler-Benz 601 inverted V-12 engine.
Got to say, that powerful howling of the Daimler-Benz engine absolutely gave us goosebumps!
