One of the Coolest Things Ever

This footage is of the unique Kaman HH-43 Huskie Helicopter at an airshow in Olympia, WA. This helicopter was used by the United States Air Force, Navy, and Marines between the 1950s to the 1970s.

It was mainly used for firefighting as well as rescue missions in close vicinity of the air bases. According to the Olympic Flight Museum, there’s only one fully restored aircraft that flies in the world today. And the restoration and maintenance team sure did a great job restoring and refurbishing the helicopter.

Great to see that a piece of aviation history is still flying even after 70+ years!

Do you think the HH-43 Huskie is one of the most underrated rescue choppers ever built? Let us know your thoughts!
