F4U Corsair Starts Up- Also Known As ‘Whistling Death’

The Vought F4U Corsair is seriously one of the most beautiful war planes ever built. And the sweet sound it makes during engine start is pure bliss. What I like about it is it doesn’t just whistle when it passes by (hence the nickname ‘Whistling Death’), it practically roars and makes it presence known. This bent-wing bird boasts of speed, maneuverability and power. And let’s not forget its rugged features. It was a superb fighting machine. It’s no wonder why the pilots who flew it loved it and were so fond of this legendary bird. What I would give to fly this nasty little beast in the sky!

Besides, it could go toe-to-toe with the iconic Japanese Zero so really, the Corsair just screams ‘bad ass’ in big, bold letters. When you look at it, it’s hard not to feel amazed. It looks good but man, its performance is incredible too. It was awesome back then and today, it still is.
