Up And Running!
Finally, after years of waiting, the fourth de Havilland Mosquito rebuilt by AVspecs took off last March 18th in New Zealand.
The flight happened at Ardmore Aerodrome and lasted only 13 minutes.
The man behind the controls needs no introduction – Steve Hinton piloted the restored warbird, with Warren Denhold of Avspecs in the second seat.
More test flights will continue in the weeks to come in preparation for the warbird’s scheduled appearance at this Easter’s Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow.
Many expect this Mosquito to be a major attraction during the event. After all, who wouldn’t want to see this sleek-looking fighter/bomber up in the skies again!?
