All For Charity
Jack Hemmings, a former RAF Squadron Leader, was a Spitfire pilot during the Second World War.
His heroic efforts didn’t end there, though. 80 years ago, he also co-founded a charity alongside D-Day veteran Stuart King called “Mission Aviation Fellowship.”

The Christian organization provides assistance to more than 1,000 Christian and humanitarian agencies in the world’s most remote areas.
To raise money for the organization, Hemmings decided to take up an offer to fly again in a Spitfire. He didn’t want to pass up this opportunity!

When the flight was finished, he was asked what he was going to do afterwards. He replied:

I haven’t thought as far ahead as that but I daresay a bit of a beverage of some sort might come in.
That’s the spirit!
