This B-52 Fast And Low Will Send Chills Down Your Spine

This B-52 Fast And Low Will Send Chills Down Your Spine | World War Wings Videos

Now That’s A Beautiful Sight.

Few things are cooler than a low flyby, especially if they’re fast! On the other hand, it also depends on the plane. We’ve seen plenty of modern day jets do that as well (that’s what fighter pilots do), however, seeing a B-52 Stratofortress like this is something else.

Jets are in and out in a second, but in this clip you’ll see a howling B-52 fly pretty fast, but not so fast that you can’t enjoy its beauty. Let us tell you, it’s a pretty sight to see indeed.

B-52 Stratofortress first took off in 1952, just 6 years after the end of World War II.

B-52s have a top speed of about 650 mph, but of course it wasn’t going that fast. What’s impressive from that angle and height is this plane’s size however. 159 ft. long and 185 ft. from wingtip to wingtip, this bomber demands respect.

It’s propelled be a whopping eight Pratt & Whitney TF33-P-3/103 turbofans, which it definitely needs. 185,000 lbs. empty and able to load up about 70,000 lbs. of bombs, this thing can ferry them over 10,000 miles.

We’re glad this thing is on our side!
