STMA’s Lady Lois

Adam Hartzell of TankerCampaigner helped the Stuart Tank Memorial Association start their M3A1 Light Tank named “Lady Lois”.

Last October, the organization began the process of mechanically restoring its M3A1. According to its board members, their mission is to honor the 9,135 workers who built the Stuart Tanks at the American Car & Foundry.

Steve Greenberg, an M3A1 owner for 20 years, came in as their advisor and chief mechanic. His work will include fixing the gearbox, inspecting the brakes, and refurbishing the original fuel tank. Aside from mechanical work, Greenberg also provided basic training to other board members – from starting the tank to driving it.

In the end, we get to see the light tank loaded onto a low-boy trailer headed for the Philadelphia Veterans Day Parade last weekend.
