Now That’s An Airshow!

As warbird fanatics, we don’t care if you get us a ticket to an airshow with one plane in it. We’d still love it and talk about that one plane for weeks to come. There are airshows, however, that make you talk about them for years though. We think this might be one of those.

Although it happens more often across the big pond, England hosts some of the best airshows around and when it comes to Spitfires, we might surmise they have a monopoly on them. Just take this video for example.

The Imperial War Museums are spread out across a few cities in England, each one of them having some very impressive exhibits. The Duxford IMW in Cambridgeshire also hosts a few airshows during the year, one of them being the Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow.

In this footage, you’ll see one of the prized reenactments so to speak of that battle. To give people a sense of what it might have been like, they collected 13 Supermarine Spitfires and flew them in formation over the crowds. Although that looks and sounds spectacular, can you imagine hundreds of these in the sky at the same time?
