70 Years Too Long!

Everyone couldn’t help but smile watching this Mosquito run its engine for the first time at Ardmore Airport, New Zealand.

The ex-RNZAF de Havilland DH98 Mosquito has been under a long-term rebuilt at AVspecs. This day, however, marked the first time the Mosquito’s engine ran after almost 70 years!

Even though its engine ran successfully, this doesn’t mean that we’ll see the ex-RNZAF Mosquito take to the skies very soon.

It usually takes a fair bit of time before it takes its first flight, but this was a major milestone on this Mosquito’s journey back to the skies.

Who knows? Maybe we’ll see its first flight a couple of months from now!

Fingers cross for that one…
