In this video, we get to see a Messerschmitt Me 262 “Schwalbe” take its first flight over Berlin after 61 years during the ILA Berlin Airshow 2006.

In a world of piston engines, we can only imagine how everyone felt the first time they’ve experienced this terrifying, yet magnificent plane! What a beautiful machine. 

This plane was designed during a time when strategic metals were becoming more and more scarce during the war.

No doubt that this is one beautiful warbird – its nose wheel gives it that extra elegance on the ground.
