Built in 1945, this Spitfire (N80TP) was flown by the 9th Squadron before being delivered to the Indian Air Force in 1947. It was retrieved from India in the 1970s and was returned for a technical restoration in England. After its lengthy restoration in 1992, it was sold to a new owner and is now based in Germany since 2015.

In this video taken at Hangar 10 Fly In in 2018, we get to see this Spitfire Mk. XXVIIIe in action. After doing pre-flight checks, we finally get to hear its Rolls-Royce Griffon 65 12-cylinder engine before it takes off. What a treat!
