The Wonders of Aviation Technology

Any plane doing a tail slide is always a treat to see. But an F-22? Now that is a sight to die for. This twin-engine, stealth fighter can reach speeds of up to Mach 2.25.

It changes directions quickly as it goes up at a 90-degree angle to initiate the tail slide. Spectators were in for a show when that happened. The stall at the peak and how the pilot regains control of the plane right after correcting the direction leaves them in awe.

If pilots from past generations saw this, they would be astounded by the developments aviation technology has brought us. Watch as these F-22 Raptors perform a tail slide at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
